KERAMIKERIN . ARCHITEKTIN
Ich, Jasna Strukelj Gmür, bin in Ljubljana aufgewachsen und habe dort Architektur studiert. Da ich zwei Semester an der ETH Zürich als Gaststudentin verbringen konnte, war es für mich naheliegend nach Abschluss meines Studiums in Zürich eine Anstellung als Architektin zu suchen. Ich arbeitete sieben Jahre als angestellte und zwei Jahre als selbständige Architektin. Gleichzeitig baute ich mir ein Keramikstudio auf.
Meine Arbeit ist sehr vielfältig. Keramik machen ist ein Prozess. Aus einem Tonklumpen entsteht über das Kneten, das Zentrieren, das Hochziehen, das Ausformen, das Abdrehen, den Rohbrand, das Glasieren und den Glasurbrand das fertige Objekt. Ich konzentriere mich auf Gebrauchsobjekte und verkaufe diese an Einzelpersonen, an Restaurants und Kaffees. Neben dem Gestalten und Produzieren gefällt mir auch das Soziale, der Kontakt mit den Menschen. Ich unterrichte Töpfern auf der elektrischen Drehscheibe mehrmals in der Woche. Dazu organisiere ich mehrmals im Jahr ein POPUP Essen, an dem ich zusammen mit dem Koch das Essen auf meiner Keramik serviere und präsentiere.

About me
I grew up in Ljubljana and studied architecture there. Since I was able to spend two semesters at the ETH Zurich as a visiting student, it made sense for me to look for a job as an architect after completing my studies in Zurich. I worked as an architect for seven years and as a freelance architect for another two. At the same time I set up a ceramics studio.
My work is very diverse. Making ceramics is a process. The finished object is created from a clump of clay by kneading, centering, pulling up, shaping, twisting, raw firing, glazing and glaze firing. I concentrate on objects of daily use and sell them to individuals, restaurants and cafes. In addition to designing and producing, I also like the social aspect, the contact with people. I teach pottery on the electric wheel several times a week. In addition, I organize a POPUP dinner several times a year, at which I serve and present the food on my ceramics together with the cook.
